2-1-1 Humboldt gives residents access to free, confidential information and referrral for non-emergency human services via a three-digit phone number.
Each phone company serving Humboldt County via land lines, wireless and voice-over-Internet completed programming its equipment to direct 2-1-1 calls to 2-1-1 Humboldt operated by the Humboldt Community Access and Resource Center (HCAR) in Eureka. All phone providers now report that 2-1-1 service is working on land lines, wireless and VOIP phones everywhere in Humboldt County. (If you find this is not so, we’d like to hear from you!)
The Humboldt Community Switchboard has changed its name to 2-1-1 Humboldt, and is working to get word out about the new service via posters, flyers, door-hangers, fridge magnets, cards and public service announcements.
