Dare to Prepare

Dare to Prepare

Come out to the Adorni Center 1011 Waterfront Drive Eureka.  Sat Nov. 4th from 12pm-4pm. Bring the Whole Family!

This event will bring attention to vital information our community members will need to know before, during and after a disaster. They will learn how to be best prepared for themselves, their families and their community. It will allow them to interact and hear from different programs and agencies that are working behind the scenes to make sure they have the best places in place and to inform our community of the importance of calling 2-1-1. If we do not inform the community now that their non-emergency questions need to go to 2-1-1 then the 9-1-1 system will be overloaded and people could die. 2-1-1 is the point of contact that our community needs to reach out to for vital information they will be seeking such as: shelter locations, food & water distribution, road closures, large and small animal removal, shelters, flooding, medical and medication assistance and so much more. 2-1-1 is locally based, available 24/7, 365 days a year and has the ability to have hundreds of agents throughout California and if needed thousand throughout the United States assist us in answering calls from distressed community members after a disaster.
