Cheap but small and quirky live alone type opportunity in the middle of Arcata.

Looking for someone who is nice, sensible, friendly, self sufficient and reasonably hardy who can make do with (even embrace!) a somewhat oddball housing setup. The price point is essentially the same as one of the cheaper rooms in the co-located household, but you get your own space instead of having six housemates. You share the fully fenced backyard with the household, but you do have an adjacent covered patio space that you can claim for your own personal use.

The trailer….or caravan as I call it…..is a small one person space, with it’s own bathroom and minimalist kitchen facilities (bar fridge and some basic appliances). Location is near the bus station, so very central but with a bit of a gritty downtown feel and some street/bus noise. But that also puts it very near the plaza, supermarkets, restaurants and everything else that goes with downtown Arcata. About 6 blocks to the lower corner of HSU (14th street) – so 8-10 minutes walk up to the middle of campus.

Rent is $550/per month including utilities. There is wifi but not a particularly strong signal in the backyard, and works better on the patio than in the caravan (Faraday cage effect). You might be able to get a better result with a signal extender but I’ll leave that up to you.

Security deposit $650. Minimum six month commitment. No pets. No cigarette/tobacco users.
